Application Fee:
All undergraduate applicants to the University of Cincinnati must submit an application fee in U.S. currency. Payments may be done by credit card (Visa, Master Card, or Discover), check or money order made payable to the University of Cincinnati.

Transcripts/Coursework List:
The University of Cincinnati requires a course-by-course evaluation of all university transcripts by a member of the National Association of Credit Evaluators (www.naces.org), such as World Education Services. Please have the evaluator send UC both the course-by-course evaluation and the original, official university transcripts.
Prospective transfer students with one year or less of university work will also need to submit transcripts from the four years of study before university.

English Language Requirement:
The ability to understand, speak, read and write English effectively is required for all UC students. If you require full-time, intensive English preparation before entering the university, please contact the ELS - Cincinnati Language Center, which is located on UC’s campus.
There are only three conditions for being exempt from taking a standardized test to demonstrate your English proficiency. Exemptions are listed below
All prospective international students not exempt from the English Language Requirement must demonstrate their English proficiency by completing ONE of the following requirements.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)
The University of Cincinnati encourages prospective international students to take the SAT test because it fulfills both the English Language requirement and the Mathemtatics requirement. By fulfilling both these requirements, students are automatically considered for the UC Global Scholarship.
While certain UC programs require higher English Language standards, the UC minimum required scores are:
- 970 Composite Score (Math & Reading) for admission consideration
- 1200 Composite Score (Math & Reading) for scholarship consideration
Please note:
If your Composite Score meets minimum standards, but your Critical Reading Score is below 480, you will be required to achieve a passing score on either the TOEFL or IELTS test in order to be admitted to the University.

- 515 paper-based test, or
- 187 computer-based test, or
- 66 internet-based test
UC College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), UC College of Engineering, and the Voice Program in the College-Conservatory of Music require:
- 550 paper-based test, or
- 213 computer-based test, or
- 79 internet-based test **College of Engineering requires a 20 in the Speaking section
UC College of Business requires:
- 600 paper-based test, or
- 250 computer-based test, or
- 100 internet-based test

If you require full-time, intensive English preparation before entering the university, please contact the ELS - Cincinnati Language Center. This center is located on UC's campus and ELS students can receive many of the benefits available to UC students. Additionally, ELS and UC work collaboratively to issue Conditional Letters of Acceptance to certain academic programs, including many undergraduate programs.
Students must successfully complete the ELS 112 class to meet the English proficiency requirements.
Students seeking intensive English training or Conditional Offers of Admissions should contact the Cincinnati ELS Language Center located on our campus.
English Language Requirement Exemptions
All prospective international students must provide proof of their English skills. There are only three conditions for being exempt from taking a standardized test to demonstrate your English proficiency:
1. You have taken a full year of high school or university in the U.S. This must be shown on your transcripts.
2. You have earned a passing score on the English section of the O-Level Exam (GSE)
