About the track
Possible UC degree
Bachelor of Science in Advanced Medical Imaging Technology
Overview
The University of Cincinnati Advanced Medical Imaging Technology (AMIT) major is a unique, innovative program that offers you the opportunity to become credentialed in two diagnostic medical imaging modalities, while obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
Traditionally, programs specialize in a single diagnostic medical imaging modality. The AMIT program curriculum ensures you are educated in multiple diagnostic medical imaging modalities, giving you credentials in both magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine technology. Coming soon, the AMIT program will be offering credentialling in the Sonography modality, too.
Admission to the AMIT Program at the College of Allied Health Sciences, whether as a first-year, transfer, or transition student, does not ensure automatic progression into the third- and fourth-year professional curriculum, which includes clinical rotations. Progression requires students to successfully navigate a distinct, selective, and highly competitive admission process, initiated each Fall semester, typically a year before the professional curriculum begins. The availability of spots each year is contingent upon clinical site capacity.
