Getting started & eligibility
Ohio students grade 7-12 that meet our admission requirements are eligible to participate in the UC CCP program. Meeting admissions and eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission to the program and a holistic review of the student is taken into consideration.
Once you have been admitted to the CCP program at UC, your admission remains valid until you graduate high school. There is no need to reapply.
No. The CCP program is only available to students who live in Ohio and attend a school in Ohio. However, UC also has a Dual Enrollment program where students from other states or attending high school in other states can participate in classes. The Dual Enrollment program cannot guarantee your school will transcribe the credit or give high school graduation credit for the college course. Therefore, if you are considering participating in the Dual Enrollment program, we encourage you to discuss your options with your high school first. In addition, students participating in the Dual Enrollment program are charged a flat rate of $125 per credit hour. Students can apply to the Dual Enrollment Program via Slate and should select the Dual Enrollment option when prompted. Any additional questions can be answered by emailing ccp@uc.edu.
Yes, you are eligible to participate in the CCP program while you're in high school. However, once you graduate and apply to college, you will be classified as an international student rather than an Ohio high school graduate.
No. However, ACT or SAT scores may be used to satisfy certain course prerequisites instead of required placement test scores. You can talk to your advisor about which specific courses this applies to! You can send your ACT Score through act.org.

After receiving your admissions decision you will receive the following communication from the CCP office to your personal email:
- 1 day after receiving decision: Welcome to CCP email with a basic overview of your next steps
- 5 days after receiving decision: Receive your UC log- in information
- 6 days after receiving decision: Next Steps email with links to begin accessing UC platforms and resources
- 7 Days after receiving decision: Placement Test Information
- 14 Days after receiving decision: Invitation to access CCP Canvas Orientation
Here's our spring timeline:
Admission decision
Typically within two to three weeks of receipt of all materials. Please be patient while we complete Spring admission, as we will not begin reviewing Spring applications until September 15. You will be processed in the order received until the November 1 deadline.
REMINDER: You can check the status of your application, including receipt of required materials.
CCP Orientation Invitation
NEW Spring applicants offered admission will not be added to CCP Orientation until late September 2025.
Continuing students who completed the Change of Modality will be added to CCP Orientation on a weekly recurring basis beginning in mid-September.
Advisor Assignment
Typically, within two weeks of completion of all requirements of the mandatory CCP Orientation.

Course registration & advising
You are assigned a CCP advisor within two weeks after completing the CCP orientation. Once you are assigned an advisor, they will contact you through your UC email. You can locate your advisor in Catalyst by clicking on the "My Academics" tile and looking in the "Academic Profile" box. You may also locate your advisor and schedule an appointment with them through My Bearcat Network.
UC's current semester course schedule may be found in the Catalyst Course Search. If future semester offerings are available, select a different term in the Term drop down box.
For the first 15 credit hours, students must take Level 1 courses as deemed by State House Bill 49. After this requirement has been met, students can take courses outside of the Level 1 course list as agreed upon with their advisor during an advising appointment. Restrictions and pre-requisites may limit student’s ability to take courses both on and off of the Level 1 course list.
CCP students can take up to a maximum of 15 credits per semester. We suggest students take between 1-4 courses, depending on their high school schedule. This can be discussed with both your CCP advisor and your high school counselor!
You will not be able to register for courses until you meet with your advisor and complete your semesterly mandatory advising requirement. During this appointment, your advisor will help you identify the courses you will register for and can answer any registration questions you may have! A prerequisite is generally a requirement that a student must complete before enrolling in a course. Different choices of prerequisites may be listed. For example, for UC's CHEM 1040/Introduction to Chemistry, students may satisfy the course prerequisite by taking a math course like MATH 1021, OR by scoring a 55 or higher on the ALEKS placement test. Some courses may require more than one prerequisite.
A corequisite is another type of requirement that may be listed to enroll in a course. Common corequisites include enrollment in a particular program or major at UC. Example: ‘COMM-DL Only’ or ‘Cincinnati Online’ listed on the enrollment requirements.
Some courses, such as Math, Science, English and Foreign Languages, may require a student to complete a placement assessment before enrolling in a course.
ENGLISH: If you are planning to take English Composition (ENGL 1001), an English Assessment score (or ACT ENGL or SAT EBRW) must be on your academic record to satisfy the course prerequisite.
The self-assessment is fully online and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete; it includes a short reading.

MATH/SCIENCE: If you are planning to take a math or science course, a Math Placement Test (or ACT MATH or SAT MATH) must be on your academic record to satisfy course prerequisites. ALEKS is an un-proctored test is available online and may be taken at any time; however, one the test is started, you have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete it.

Please contact your advisor with additional questions regarding placement tests and subsequent scores.
CCP students are required to meet with their assigned CCP advisor prior to each semester they plan to enroll at UC. A hold is placed on students accounts until they meet this requirement. You may schedule an appointment in My Bearcat Network. If you believe you have satisfied you mandatory advising appointment requirement and still have an advising hold, please contact your advisor.
Check with your high school counselor to verify that any course you take as a CCP student satisfies a particular high school graduation requirement. UC does not have the authority to determine course applicability to high school graduation requirements.
Contact your advisor and explore various academic support resources available to UC students such as the Learning Commons and the UC Writing Center.
Discuss academic and financial implications of dropping or withdrawing from a course with your high school counselor, CCP advisor, and family.
Follow up with your CCP advisor for specific instructions for how to drop or withdraw from a course.
Failing or withdrawing from a CCP course has consequences at both the college and high school level. At UC, failing and withdrawing from a course will result in a permanent mark on your college transcript. A failed grade will carry a 0.0 GPA on your college transcript, while a withdrawal has no GPA impacts. Individual high schools have their own policies regarding failed and withdrawn CCP courses. There can be impacts to your transcript, GPA and potential required tuition refunds from the student/ family. Please contact your high school to determine their specific policy.
Log into your College Board Account. Above your scores, you will click on a button that says, "Send my scores to schools". Please include the University of Cincinnati. This score will be able to be seen by all 3 UC campuses.
Cost & funding
There can be. If you plan on attending courses on one of our three campuses, you may need to purchase a parking pass. CCP does not cover any costs of technology, notebooks, or writing utensils. If you need to purchase any of these materials, you may need to pay for them out of pocket or contact your high school counselor for assistance.
Work with your CCP advisor to complete an Option A form. This form is due by the drop deadline date each semester. Information about course billing will be sent to your UC email after the drop deadline. You may find additional billing information on UC's Bursar website.
Yes; however Non-Public and Homeschool students must complete a funding application each year. Funding applications are due by 5:00 PM on April 1 each year. The funding application covers the subsequent summer, fall, and spring semesters. Please work with your school counselor to determine how many funding hours to request.
The funding application is available through the OH ID website. Check out this information for filling out the funding application.
Please be aware that UC has no authority or influence on the amount of funding hours students receive. Any questions or concerns regarding funding allowance should be directed to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
Textbooks
Students attending public or non-public high schools are not responsible for paying for CCP textbooks. Your school will cover all expenses for books required for your CCP courses at UC. Due to the billing structure, it is important you don’t pay out of pocket, as you will not be reimbursed.
Homeschool students are responsible for paying for CCP textbooks.
You can check your course listing in Catalyst to see if your books are available. If no textbook information is available, select "email me when coursework is available".
You can order textbooks directly from the UC Bookstore on your campus. If ordering your books online, please follow these instructions. If purchasing your books in-store, remember to bring your Bearcat Card or photo ID and mention your CCP status at checkout.
You should have received instructions from your academic advisor on how to resolve textbook issues. If you continue to have issues, please send a screenshot of your error message to your CCP advisor.
Please email your CCP advisor a copy of your syllabus immediately. The CCP program will cover required supplies and materials listed on a syllabus (up to a certain dollar amount).
If ordering online, books listed as being in backorder may still be ordered. The order will be fulfilled when the book is back in stock. If a book is listed as out of stock, please email your campus bookstore:

If ordering in-store, a bookstore associate will provide a special order form for you to fill out. The bookstore will notify you by phone, once the book is back in stock, usually within 3-4 business days, except when book is in backorder from the publisher.
If the following message appears in the course materials information section of your course in Catalyst, your main course textbook will be available in your Canvas course at the first day of class:
“Above item is part of a program where course materials are included in a course charge or tuition”
There may be additional required lab books, workbooks, or supplemental textbooks for the class that you will need to acquire from the bookstore. Please check Catalyst or your course syllabus for a listing of any additional required materials. Contact your CCP advisor if you have questions regarding the difference between textbooks and materials.
If your course materials listed through the bookstore include digital textbooks or an online access code, you may add these items to your bookstore cart and proceed to purchase. The access code will be either mailed to you (if you have ordered online) via printed card or envelope, or printed on your bookstore receipt (if you acquire in store). Please do not discard your receipt or your physical access card!
If you are a public or non-public school student, you will need to work with your school counselor/school district to purchase textbook access.
Student life & logistics
No. Students enrolled in CCP or similar dual-enrollment programs are not eligible for University on-campus housing.
No. CCP students are not permitted to participate in study abroad programs as they are beyond the scope of this program.
If you are taking a course on a UC campus, you will need to arrange your own transportation and parking. Neither transportation nor parking are covered by the CCP program. Parking passes and parking information for each campus can be found on the Parking and Transportation Services website.
While CCP students are not eligible to officially join registered student organizations (RSOs) as non-matriculated students, you are welcome to attend campus events, utilize the Bearcat Promise Career Studio, Learning Commons or connect with the Center for Community Engagement for Volunteer Opportunities. CCP students can access a range of resources and services. However, some restrictions may apply depending on the particular resource. If you have questions about a particular service, please reach out to your academic advisor.
UC has an Accessibility Resources office located on each campus. This office provides full and equal access to students, employees, and visitors with disabilities. You can register with Accessibility Resources to receive academic accommodations in your UC courses, regardless of course modality. IEPs and 504s used in your high school will not automatically transfer to UC. In addition, your high school counselor or parent/guardian will not be permitted to reach out to UC on your behalf. To receive accommodations, you will need to register with UC’s Accessibility Resources team.
Life after CCP
If you completed your CCP coursework at UC and you plan to attend UC, you do not need to send a transcript.
If you plan to attend college elsewhere and you need an official UC transcript, you will need to access your Catalyst Portal. Transcripts can be ordered on the “My Academics” page under “Grades/Transcript/Enroll Cert.”
Yes. All CCP students must apply to UC Undergraduate Admissions as a first-time freshman student. Participating in UC CCP does not guarantee automatic admission into any degree program at the University of Cincinnati. However, CCP students will be able to apply to UC for free!
Yes. All incoming freshmen, including former CCP students, are required to attend orientation. There are no exceptions to this rule. This is where you will meet your new academic advisor with whom you will work with after leaving the CCP program.
If you took CCP credit at another institution, please search UC's transfer equivalency database and work with your current academic advisor to determine how your credits may transfer to UC.
If you plan to attend college outside of UC, please contact a representative from the institution you plan to attend. State that you are interested in applying and ask how the course(s) in question will transfer and apply toward your intended degree.
