Scholarship Criteria for International Transfer Students

Scholarships are renewed annually for two or three years depending on the academic program. English proficiency tests are not required if students complete UC equivalent English Composition I (ENGL1001) course with a B grade or higher at a regionally accredited US institution.

These criteria and values are subject to change. 

  • $5,000 award: GPA 3.00—3.19* and proven English proficiency of 79-91 TOEFL (internet based) or 6.5 IELTS
  • $10,000 award: GPA 3.20—3.74* and proven English proficiency 92 TOEFL (internet based) and above or 7.0 IELTS
  • $15,000 award: GPA 3.75* and above plus proven English proficiency 92 TOEFL (internet based) and above or 7.0 IELTS and above

*Cumulative GPA is on a 4.0 scale 

Students are eligible for our scholarships if they meet one of the following:

  • International transfer students who have completed (or are completing) an Associate’s degree from an accredited university or community college in the U.S. or outside of the U.S.
  • International transfer students who earned at least 24 semester hours of university level course credit at a university in the U.S. or outside of the U.S.

If you are admitted through an articulation agreement, the terms of the agreement will determine your scholarship amount and eligibility. Please review the agreement to find the details of your specific scholarship award. The terms of these agreements and scholarship awards are non-negotiable.
